First Day

Hey Everyone!
So here is how my first day went. I got to school around 8:00 and I was the first one haha. I set up the room, photocopied, and got ready for the day. Around 8:20ish Sarah came into my room and gave me some flowers from the staff. I was so excited! They are so great.

My beautiful flowers

The kids came in and we did the morning routine. Then I read them my favorite book "It's Okay to be Different" by Todd Parr. I had made a flower, like in my ECE class back in the day, that had 5 petals and a blank line in the middle. The kids had to draw one of their favorite things on each of the petals adn then write their name in the middle. Many of them turned out quite well. We then had swimming, which we were late for. Everything seemed to go fine until one of my students couldn't find his towel/clothes. But we ended up finding them, thank goodness. Then we went back, had snack, sung our goodbye songs and left for the day. Then I had lunch and enjoyed some delicious death by chocolate. Then I was ready for the afternoon. Things went much smoother. When we first started class the students were looking for Kathy, the teacher on Wednesdays (she was there helping/showing me the ropes Tuesday and Wednesday). She was in the school subbing so when they saw her they said "the teacher is coming!" My response was "I am here" and they were sooo confused haha. I guess it will take a little while to get used to me. Once they figured out that I was the teacher everything went fine. Swimming went much smoother. It was a great day! I can't wait to keep teaching these classes they are a blast!
On to other news. I am all moved in, as of Tuesday, and my roomie is awesome. There was a gift waiting for me on my bed when I first came in. It was one of those Angels holding a sunflower. I was like "this is the perfect gift!" I was so pumped.
I also joined/transferred to curves up here on Wednesday. It feels so good to get back into a routine again. The machines are so new. woohoo
So far I am loving it here and I can't wait to update you more. This was one of the best decisions I ever made! yay
