An Update

Well everyone we are back from BC.

School was done on June 20th. It was a sad day. I did not want to leave. My superintendent came to my room to shake my hand, tell me I did an amazing job, and to get my phone number so that she could let me know when a job was available. I must have done something right to get this reaction. After school finished and I was almost done cleaning my room the principal came to talk to me. He also shook my hand, told me that he wished he could see me grow more and said that I am going to be an excellent teacher. He wished me luck for the fall and made me feel great. I grew and learned so much in 2 months! I can only imagine what would happen if I was there for a year or even a semester. I said goodbye to the staff and ate my last meal at Dan's. I am going to miss that place. I packed up my car and tried to get a good night sleep.

Leaving Fort Nelson for the summer

The next morning we begun our drive down to Vancouver to visit my Aunt and Uncle. It was a gorgeous drive! I love nature and am now loving BC. We bunkered down in the Super 8 in William's Lake and set out the next day for the last part of our journey. We arrived at the pacific coast in the afternoon. What a great view and lovely afternoon.

We spent two days sight seeing. We took a big bus tour (like in Dubai) and were able to hop on and off at various tourist stops around the city. We saw Granville Island (where I spent a lot of money), Gastown, Stanley Park, the Aquarium (with the baby beluga), Robson Street, the Library, and the Art Gallery. I wish that we could have gone to the island but we will go next time.

We began our drive back to Regina Wednesday morning. The plan was to stop in Strathmore, AB but I was wide awake. We drove ALL NIGHT LONG! I stopped in Swift Current to have a large ice cap with my friend, Dallas. We arrived in Regina at 4am and had breakfast with the folks at 5am. I later woke up Andrew to wish him luck on his last final and gave him a shock. He wasn't expecting me until that afternoon.

On Friday, June 27, we went to Andrew's high school graduation. It is hard to believe that he is all grown up. He was not impressed that I brought Edgar with me. But Edgar and I had fun. Andrew stuck him in his boutonnière box, it looked like he was in a glass coffin. Sad but funny. A picture should be up as soon as I get the pictures off my camera.

Now I am enjoying my freedom of summer in the city. Hopefully I will keep this more updated.
